Ex-WWE Star Completes Film Debut After Shock Exit, Lands Role in Invicta
Former WWE Superstar Sonya Deville has announced that she has completed her first film performance.
The former Raw and SmackDown wrestler, aged 31, who will be making her first commentating appearance today at the Invicta FC 62 MMA event for women as Daria Berenato, is looking into various possibilities following this move. Her WWE contract was not extended. earlier this year.
She exclusively told : ‘I Always tell my spouse [Toni] , she dislikes the phrase, but I'm constantly saying, "the world is our oyster," since that genuinely reflects my feelings and has always been my mindset.
'I believe that manifesting is crucial, and whatever you focus your thoughts on, anything you imagine, you have the ability to achieve.'
‘So yeah, acting is something that I’m actively pursuing, and I’ve just wrapped a movie a couple weeks ago, so that’ll be coming out soon. So that’s fun. [I’m] taking it day by day.’
When asked for further specifics, Daria maintained she’s 'not permitted to share just yet', though she hinted that additional insights will come 'once the moment is appropriate'.

However, the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion did offer a hint of the kind of roles she could take on given her own tastes.
'I'm passionate about thrillers. Action thrillers and psychological thrillers particularly capture my interest,' she said with a smile. 'Series are among my favorites; for instance, I enjoy watching "Breacher" and "Tracker." These kinds of shows let me dive right into the action.'
She believes that the work she did for over a decade at WWE highlighted her 'versatility and diversity', starting from her sports-oriented presentations and moving towards something else later on. stint as General Manager for the work she completed as part of Mandy Rose, Otis, and Dolph Ziggler's romantic entanglement .
'I'm quite thrilled about applying some of these skills now, maybe as early as this coming Friday,' she said, giving a nod towards her first appearance providing comments for Invicta tonight.
Daria expresses 'shock' at how her life has transformed, acknowledging she did not anticipate WWE would choose not to extend her contract prior to its expiration in February—however, her response could be quite unexpected for others.

'It felt as though a huge weight had been lifted instantly. Being there, you're immersed in that environment; it's incredibly competitive, and constantly hanging over your head is the thought, "When will my time be up?" It isn’t a question of 'if,' since eventually everyone either departs or gets dismissed," she explained.
'I had been there for ten years. My whole twenties were dedicated to that place, from age 21 to 31, so I truly felt that I could demonstrate my capabilities. I experienced countless events and simply departed feeling grateful. I thought to myself, "That was incredible. Act one has concluded. It's now time for act two." '
In the second chapter, Daria returns to her mixed martial arts origins following discussions with Shannon Knapp, which convinced her to join a promotions company she initially observed at events more than ten years ago.
‘While competing in MMA and essentially charting my own course in the sport, I constantly dreamt about fighting at Invictus,’ she said with a smile. ‘This is truly a complete-circle moment for me.’
When Daria departed from the MMA realm to join the reality show WWE Tough Enough in 2015, leading to a contract with the wrestling company, she felt 'extremely heartbroken'.

After feeling like she was in a ‘time warp for 10 years’ laser-focused on that career, Daria is delighted to be heading back.
'[MMA] was practically who I was back then,' she mused. 'Which is why this moment, becoming part of the commentary team for Invicta, feels incredibly meaningful and resonates deeply within me.'
That doesn’t mean she’s ruled out returning to pro wrestling, and she knows people will draw links between Invicta and her. WWE partner TNA , given they both fall under the Anthem banner.
'There's certainly something about [TNA] that piques my interest. I'm well aware that the same corporation oversees both Invicta and TNA,' she remarked with a twist of humor.

'I'll simply state that I believe the best is still ahead of us. We shall see. Currently, I don't have concrete answers for you, but I feel there are discussions to be held.'
No matter if it's MMA or professional wrestling – or perhaps her Unwrapped podcast with her spouse Toni – Daria remains receptive to new opportunities and keeps an open mind.
'I believe the best part of my journey is still ahead. In all aspects, I think I'm better now than I've ever been. My body feels fantastic, and I feel more agile than during my 20s,' she stated.
'Perhaps I'm a slow starter, who knows, but I genuinely feel better now than I ever have before. It feels like my possibilities are limitless, yet I am truly relishing what I'm currently up to.'
